Our Staff

McKenzie Kocmond

Office Manager

McKenzie has called Incline Village her home for the majority of her life. She loves working with animals and is excited to continue working in the field of animal welfare.

Before joining the staff of IVH in June of 2021, McKenzie worked as an Adoption Specialist and then as the Development Assistant at Pet Network Humane Society for two years.

When she has a spare moment to herself, McKenzie enjoys painting, gardening, and exploring the Tahoe Basin. She doesn't currently have any pets but looks forward to getting her own pets in the future.

Asa Strange

Veterinary Assistant

Asa grew up in the Bay Area, relocating to Incline Village in 2016- Now happily calling the Tahoe Basin his home. He is currently enrolled at Sierra Nevada University as a Biology Major, with dreams to become a veterinarian himself someday.

Before joining the staff of IVH in September of 2020, Asa worked as an animal caretaker, kennel attendant, and veterinary assistant to Dr. Kim Barnes, DVM. He worked for a busy hospital & boarding facility in the area before eventually finding his way to us. He has always had a passion for animal care and hopes to receive a degree in the DVM field.

While he has no pets of his own currently, he does share a home with a husky mix named Luna, whom he loves like his own dog.

In his spare time, Asa enjoys getting outside and getting active as much as possible- he loves baseball, softball, basketball, football, going to the gym, and snowboarding.

Zoe Belser-McCaul

Veterinary Assistant

Zoe, a Tahoe transplant, moved to South Lake Tahoe when she was very young. She eventually moved to Incline Village with her family after spending her childhood on the south shore of the lake.

She graduated recently from a private school in the area, and is on track to attend UC Davis for Animal Biology & Veterinary Medicine in the fall of 2021.

Zoe dreams of being a veterinarian herself, and is here with us, picking up as much knowledge as she can before pursuing her degree in the DVM field. Before joining the team at IVH in December of 2020, she volunteered her time with Dr. Kim Barnes, DVM, and at Pet Network here in Incline Village.

Zoe has always had a love of animals, and a desire to help care for them however possible. It is only natural that she found her way into this field. She has a doberman mix named Loki, who, if possible, will be right by her side.

In her free time, Zoe enjoys skiing, hiking, rock climbing, biking, and reading.
